Bevin Schmidt has been living and breathing the paddling culture since his youth in North Bay Ontario.  Bevin is a certified padding instructor/coach with various paddling associations in Canada.   Bevin and his wife LA founded the Ottawa River Canoe Club in 2002.  This club encompasses all types of paddle sports including sprint kayak/canoe, dragon boat, outrigger canoe, surfski, stand up paddleboard, and recreational canoe.

Bevin’s company, wavepaddlesport.ca, imports high quality Vajda canoes, kayaks and surfskis from Slovakia and Kape canoes and kayaks from Hungary.  Orders for new custom canoes, kayaks and surfskis must be placed before December 1st to ensure delivery in the spring of the following year.
